Givenchy, the Audrey style

Givenchy is a Paris based fashion boutique. It was founded in 1952 by Hubert James Taffin de Givenchy and it now belongs to Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH). Givenchy is the inventor of the iconic „little black dress“. Already, early on, the label was being worn by celebrities. Nobody embodied this style more than Audrey Hepburn in films such as Sabrina or Breakfast at Tiffany's. A meeting with the young actress blossomed into a long artist-muse relationship. The names Givenchy customers reads like a who's who of international fame: Grace Kelly, Jackie Kennedy, Madonna and every stilish woman that has the required pocket change to hand.
Givenchy simply must be owned! The Givenchy style defines a timeless, classic elegance. The icon for this style is the little black dress that Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Clear lines, narrow silhouettes, elegant and feminine. Also very characteristic are big hats and other articles that partially cover the face.

The Givenchy brand created its own line of perfumes early on. Today, the product range includes coats, dresses, Bags and Accessories.

The lead designer at Givenchy is currently Riccardo Tisci, who has been with the company since 2005. The italian designer is not the only star at Givenchy; Julien Macdonald, Alexander McQueen are just some of the names that the label has at its disposal. While Givenchy prefered bright colors, today, softer colors and romantic gothic ideas influence Tisci's style. Riccardo Tisci studied fashion at Saint Martins School in London. After this, he work at Puma, Ruffo and at the italian label Coccapani.
